May need to re-do the maths here.
    12 x 25p = £3.00

Oh my god how bad is my maths!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Oh for goodness sake, they can't do right for doing wrong! They're offering a discount on their line rental of 25p a month IF you go paperless. Not a huge saving, admittedly, but they could have done it another way - if you DON'T go to paperfree you'll pay more than you usually do.

But no, gotta look a gift horse in the mouth.

Postage and an envelope and a few printed invoice pages and inserted leaflets costs more than that, so they could afford to offer a bit more.

Actually they probably couldn't offer more than that without making a loss and having Ofcom up in arms.

This is because of the £10.75/month BT Retail have to pay almost all of it to other parts of BT who they technically "rent" the line from. (Just as other operators do so as well) - though I don't have the exact figures in front of me, the margin is very small.

Also, most people are billed every 3 months by BT, so can think of it as 75p off each bill which may 'sound' more reasonable.

Besides if all your calls are going via 1899/18185 and Primus (say), the BT bill are always going to say £10.75/month (maybe a few p more if you make a handful to get free caller display) - so is unlikey to require loads of checking!

    Regards
    Sunil

Does anyone know: If you already get paperless billing from BT - like me - will this saving be passed on automatically in December or will they do as they have done in relation to making caller display 'free' leave it up to people to claim their 'rebate'?

(They've got form on this you know)

  • Q. What happens when you don't get your ebill alert

    A. You're hit with a £5 late payment charge

Why? because their (BT) system didn't send the email alert to me so I didn't know I had an outstanding bill. I've since switched to dual billing instead - best of both worlds.

Pay by direct debit, none of the hassle and a £12 a year discount.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Talk Talk are going to charge £1 a month more if you want paper billing eg £12 a month line rental instead of £11. They are not rebating their existing tariff.
