Yes you can connect to Xbox Live with this. In fact, xbox live started on the original xbox. There are a lot of online multiplayer xbox games available already.
Get an Xbox console, an xbox live subscription and multiplayer live games (Halo2 etc..)

With Xbox games being cleared out cheap this makes for a great present for younger (less brand concious and less technology aware) kids.

Thanks totoriko - in your opinion would I be better of forking for the 360 or are the live games 'almost as good' on the xbox?

I hardly know how I've survived without XBMC! Little addons like being able to watch any of the BBC2 shows whenever I want via download, surfing on youtube on my TV, watching Lost, Prison Break and other programmes via my server. Absolute heaven.

Make no mistake about it though - to get the most out of XBMC, you need to be a bit of a techie!
