I moved in 2006, so my direct knowledge may be a little dated.

Wills should be £100 each roughly.

You'll be lucky to find a decent estate agent only charging 1%.

Survey seems cheap for a full structural survey.

Moving costs seem expensive, even for a full packing & moving service from a BAR member for a 4 bed house I paid only £1000 + VAT.

If i were to find myself in the position of purchasing a half million pound house i don't suppose i'd be too worried about how much it would cost to move. But that's just me.

we have just moved and i set aside 10k for costs,,,not enough. the painters alone have cost 2k carpets 3k and bed 2k with mattresses then there is a new leather sofas 1.6k(two rooms) new curtains blinds ect ect..i was hoping to get a dry stone wall done but will have to put more money on the table.my solicitors fees where £1700 after very drawn out legal wrangle with the land registry..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
