Volunteer as a dog walker at a dogs home or ask a elderly person if their dog needs a good walk. I find just going for a walk for "no reason" really boring but if I take the dog with me its more motivating and really good fun.0

Greyhound racing's often fun too - very cheap stakes, and better odds than the lottery!0 -

You can not only volunteer to be a dog walker but you could also advertise yourself in the local shops as a dog walker for money! There are also possibilities of advertising to dogsit during the day while people are at work, they drive the dog to you. If you both work from home, I am sure you could have a dog come to play, and take it out for a walk during lunch breaks.
That way you get to earn extra money while you work and you get an excuse for you both to get out for a good walk each day. That way you get to have a dog without the expense!0 -

Try Geocaching...it's like orienteering but you get a little prize too! It's fun and you just need a map...oh and a GPS..I suppose that could be expensive if you dont have one. You could borrow one maybe? We did it a couple of times and they do hide the caches in all sorts of places - towns and countryside. Check out what's nearby at

hi we sometimes lie outside on the grass ect and star gaze !!! (after kids are in bed !) go for a moonlit stroll with a bottle of bubbly ( or whatever ! ) and strawberrys / chocs, find a spot to stop and chat, have a water fight when its warm , or my favorite was when we came back from pub and it was pouring down, i got in took my shoes & coat off only to be grabbed and pulled back outside and asked to dance !! no music, no shoes , no coat, soaking wet with soggy sox, dancing in the rain... but it was so sweet and it still makes me smile ! i know some of these sound a bit childish but so what have fun & enjoy life.....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
