Panasonic tz8 - would this replace still camera and video?

    Hi

    I bought this camera a few months ago for £230, its an okay camera, try it out in the shop first and remember there are other models in the pricerange offering similar capabilities (zoom compact).

    There is no video compression with this (unlike the TZ10), long videos will eat up your memory. on the plus side, the battery life is very very good.

    A lot of Lumix fans have criticsed the TZ8 for being a downgrade fojrm the eariler TZ7 model, which is why both models retail at a similar price despite the TZ7 being a year older.

    TZ7/8/9/10, HX5, WB650/600

    In retrospect I should've bought an ultra compact because I don't use the zoom at all and its a pain to fit into a jean pocket
