Looked on paypal a few days later and it said payment being processed.

It has been took out of my bank but it looks like seller hasnt accepted payment.

Tried to contact seller a couple of times but i have had no response.

I have also tried to file a dispute but it says paypal does not support this.

As above, I'm sure you can cancel the transaction if the payment's not been accepted.

This happened to me last year. I contacted seller sfter a week, seller said she was waiting for payment to appear in her bank account. I told her to check her paypal account, as that's where the money was.

After 4 days, there was still no response, so I sent another email advising that if the payment wasn't accepted by the end of the weekend, I'd cancel and buy elsewhere ~ which is what I did.

Funnily enough, she then opened a non paying bidder case, stupid woman.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

It sounds as thought it may be an e-cheque payment. These come from your bank, but take 10 days to reach the seller. Having said that, they should have it by now. What is the item status in your 'My Ebay'? Does it show an eggtimer?

I also bought something a week ago-the payment is still shown as "pending" and the seller hasn't replied to any mails.

I'm getting a bit annoyed-any idea how long it's reasonable to wait before cancelling the transaction and negging?

Yes it is an egg timer !!

Also i won the item for £1 and they had buy it now for £15 so im wondering if they didnt want it to sell this low that is why they havent accepted payment.

I know this will sound a bit mean but if i cancel the order does anything else happen like can i give neg feedback or is that it they are free to put item back on and get the price they wanted? ! ?

    Thanks

Im the same..sold something last week and it says payment being processed and there is an egg timer symbol there..is this an e chq? I mailed the buyer but had no response!
it also says "claim payment" but there is no way to do it

  • Ive got the similar, seller said that ebay have put the wrong email address for payment and to cancel it, done so and its on a temporary hold.

It normally tells you if it goes as an echeque and a rough clear date when you log onto paypal, mine definitely werent that, I have no idea what is going on with mine.

File an item not received dispute? They cannot claim you have not paid then.

Maybe they are upto a free account limit.

I sold a few bits and bobs a while back, Nothing expensive.
But with postage came to over £200, I had to signup as a premier account to get my funds.

Made me wonder why bother, £7.50 item with £14 postage? Soon ate away any gains.

There are two different problems on this thread and it is worth clarifying.

An echeque shows as a claimed and successful payment to the buyer, in fact a buyer might not even know it has gone as an echeque, which is why we always suggest that a seller drops the buyer a note. An echeque cannot be recalled but as selller has received it the seller can (although they would not then be able to NPB the buyer later) refund it.

An unclaimed payment is entirely different and it can be unclaimed for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the seller may have m,istyped their paypal address on the auciotn. The common one being Hotmail accounts where a seller puts say .com instead of .uk. Secondly if seller is trying to use a basic paypal aco!!!! instead of a premier. This has nothing at all to do with payment amounts, but is number based. A basic (ie free) account can only accept payments from an existing paypal balance, they can also get two free payments via card. However once the third person tries to make a card backed payment the payment remains unclaimed until the seller upgrades to a premier account.
