My nan passed away due to Leukaemia and I have a tattoo of a tortoise (because she loved hers) with the leukaemia research flower on its back
Couldnt do the flower the same colours as the logo but im still happy with it and its more subtle to me...I dont care if people dont like it tbh, I love it, its perfect for remembering my Nan
Aw, I really like that, and it's lovely that you can look at it and think of your Nan.Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.0 -
Sally22, that is lovely, I really like that and it means a lot to you, so that's really important. It's so cute
EDS, ME/CFS, FM, IBS, PSH. I refuse to have any condition that can't be made into an acronym.0 -

I do wonder about how advisable it'd be to get a tattoo with EDS, since our skin is stretchier than most so it'd get distorted even more easily. I would love to get one, not necessarily related to any of my illnesses (by the way, apparently we share most of the major things, looking at your signature!), but I'm not sure if I ought.
That said, my EDS doesn't generally have as much skin manifestation as my dad's. It's mostly the severe hypermobility and related issues without the skin being that stretchy - is the only feature of HEDS that I don't have...Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. I would be very careful of getting a tattoo with any auto-immune type conditions.
The inks are really not that nice, chemically, and have the potential to really play up the immune system, which is obviously much more likely with a screwy immune system in the first place. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I have a defective immune system - and a large tattoo across the bottom of my back - it is an abstract design that looks a bit like curly wings - i got it because i was told as a child that i would never be able to live a normal life - to me it symbolises that no matter what - i will try and fly !!!!0

Yes - I did know, and wasn't really addressing it to you, but it was your post that put the thought in my head.
With EDS, I belive there are some issues with skin healing and scar formation, which is probably what you were referring to - but I think there is a link between it and arthritis as well - which is autoimmune? How to find a dentist.

thats why we enjoy your posts you got some spirit
I have a tattoo as a result of my bipolar?
I don't regret it, but I wouldn't have had it if I hadn't been poorly at the time. It does make me laugh when people see it and look so shocked ... they seem to think I am a good girl!0 -
