Disabilities and tattoos

Might be a strange question but does anyone have any tattoos related to your illness or disability?

I have the breast cancer ribbon tattoo'd on me (never had breast cancer but effected a lot of people i know)

I am getting 2 tattoos related to my bipolar:

One is : http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=969641&id=1615710977

Which is what my tattooist choose, since he has an understanding of bipolar and second one is:

Bit of a ying yang thing, dark wing represent my depression white wing to represent my manic times.

Anyone else?

Only my husband isn't keen on tats (too late I already have one, lol!) I would seriously consider getting one to acknowledge my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I want to get a little Zebra somewhere.
EDS, ME/CFS, FM, IBS, PSH. I refuse to have any condition that can't be made into an acronym. :p

Not a huge fan myself but recognise the personnal significance. Always interested as this is a huge part in acknowledging and accepting a condition.
    Piccies when its done?

Yeah, i will put piccies up as soon as i have them done, i hold my bipolar as if it is an object that i have to protect (weird i know) but my CPN understands and she says its my way of accepting my illness.

I have a tattoo as a result of my bipolar? :o

I don't regret it, but I wouldn't have had it if I hadn't been poorly at the time. It does make me laugh when people see it and look so shocked ... they seem to think I am a good girl! ;)
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Hi this is my first post / reply. I have never thought of getting a tatoo I have epilepsy and often wonder off looking perfectly normal then I wake up confused not knowing where I am, my partner has sugested a braclet or a chain but I was never too sure if anyone would look at them, this might be a good idea, but again where would be the best place to have one?

I have a tattoo on each wrist, maybe thats a good place as if your picked up by a medic im sure they will check your heart rate and it will show there? i also have one on the bottom of my back which is a memorial to my 2 dogs who died, im having my bipolar tattoos one at the top of my back and the other on my left ankle, unless i change my mind lol

My nan passed away due to Leukaemia and I have a tattoo of a tortoise (because she loved hers) with the leukaemia research flower on its back

Couldnt do the flower the same colours as the logo but im still happy with it and its more subtle to me...I dont care if people dont like it tbh, I love it, its perfect for remembering my Nan

My avatar is the tattoo I had done on my wrist after having my mastectomy. :)
