Here is a thread here ,it has some details of organic box schemes in areas of scotland . EAST Organics looks good but they only deliver in edinburgh area.
  • Shona - there is a thread on the local money buying forum/Scotland with a couple of links in it (edit to add this link to the thread - hope it works http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=257026 )

I have been deperately trying to get a local supplier so was very chuffed to find a company to deliver here (Angus) and my first box is due on thursday morning. :D

Course I have just realised it will probably have plums in it and I could supply a small supermarket with the amount of plums i have on the tree - never mind - I will remember next week!

why not upload a photo of your veg here, I'll do it when I get my next one in 2 weeks - compare sizes (oo-er missus) from different companies, be a good benchmark to see who is value for money then.

Have taken a pic of this weeks fruit and veg but not sure how to upload it to the site - can anyone help??

To upload pics to the site you will need to download it to a photo hosting site. I was recommended www.photobucket.com on here .You then download your photos to their then cut the first html line. Then on here you will see the top boxes when you are writing sa message, with bold, quote etc. Well you choose the one that looks like a picture and insert the html line in there that you have copied from photobucket ( or anyother photo hosting source ). Photobuckets also lets you reduce it in their editting section. Works a treat.

We use Riverford Organics in London, who are generally excellent, considering we only have supermarkets near us.

There is one downside - no picking and choosing contents of the boxes.

So does anyone know what to do with 3 Kohl Rabi????!

    That's a mining synagogue isn't it?

Someone suggested grated over salad, but I haven't tried it yet

My favourite part of having a box delivered is getting stuff I've never tried before. So although I can pick & choose if I want to - I don't.

Have you tried googling Kolhlrabi? I've just had a go & there are a few sites with recipies.
I got a couple in my box a few weeks ago & used it layered up with onion & potato & covered with a tomato, garlic sauce. It was nice but not very strongly flavoured. It would be good with a cheese sauce (I don't eat dairy hence the totato based sauce).
