My letter came with the credit card bill. (One full month's notice.)
If your bill is paperless I don't know how you would be notified.
I remember why they first changed them from the 1 -1, a couple of years ago, I didn't receive any notification and was saving them up for something; the first that I knew of it was when I was actually going to redeem them and felt cheated, as I would have redeemed them earlier.0 -
I rang them today to complain as I never received any letter regarding the points and was told that my account was not affected. I'm now unsure if I've been fobbed off or, if it was genuine.0

Have just heard from a friend of mine. She complained to Goldfish as she hadn't received the 1,000 bonus points that i told her I had received. She was told she didn't get them because her account has not been affected - how does that work? She is trying to find out why not and I will then try to switch to an account like hers - otherwise will switch to using my M&S card (once I've cashed in my bonus oints after 01/08/10).0

I've got 1300 points and hardly ever use the credit card now we no longer go on foreign holidays. I need another 400 odd points but I won't achieve this in time even if I use the card to buy groceries and petrol etc. Its a pig. All wasted now.0

Thanks Martin for reminding me in the weekly mail to cash in my points. Just one thing though, its 2,500 points for a £10 reward not 1,750. They put it up not long ago, just before I got to 1,750! Wasn't well pleased then, and less so now but at least I just made the 2,500 (2,548!!)
I'm still on (until 1st Aug) the 1750 points = £10 voucher.
Think different users are on different reward "packages"
Can anyone confirm that EVERYONE is moving to 3500 points = £10 voucher on 1st Aug?
I know some people who never had a letter and they are on 2500pts = £10 and just wondering if theirs will go up too.

I am livid about the new points changes.
I have had a Goldfish card for 12 years, and when it started it was 1000 points for £10 worth of vouchers. Over the years Goldfish has been taken over by various companies who have slowly eroded the points value, but Barclaycard take the biscuit. In two months they have devalued the points more than any other company in the last ten years!
Now we need to spend 3½ times as much to get the same rewards.
The letter they sent out says, “If you would like to discuss the changes, please call customer services”... So I did.
I told them that two months warning was not really enough, and their devaluation was excessive.
They basically said it was a done deal, and there was nothing they could do.
So what's the point asking us to call and “discuss” if there's nothing to discuss.
They evidently don't give a $##!
I told them that from the end of this month I want to cancel both my Goldfish card AND my Barclaycard. They are supposed to be getting someone to call me back next week.... I won't be holding my breath.
Vote with your feet! There are much better deals out there.
PS. DON'T EVER call the customer services number they put on your bill. They're making money while they keep you hanging around (it's no accident they're short staffed and don't answer for ages).
Call FREE on 0800 9177277
Why should you pay for their appalling service?0 -
I tried to redeem my goldfish points online and the system would not let me. Coincidence ???!! I had to use the phone service instead and waited for ages at 5p per minute. Suggest anyone wanting to redeem chooses their time carefully. According to the guy I spoke to at Barclaycard they are hoping to solve the problem with their web-based redemption within "2 days or so" - which probably means sometime after 31 July. Cynic? Me?Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

As I've already said, the best value can be cinema tickets. I've just ordered enough cinema tickets to put me in line to mount a serious stab at Jonathon Ross' old job on the BBC!
£10 in High Street Store Vouchers is currently 1,750 points.
2 Adult Cinema tickets are 1,250 point. For two people to attend my local cinema it's about £16. Much better value. Personally I will use them at weekends, but as we all know, well timed use during the week could make them a very good trade (Orange Wednesday with Odeon etc).0 -
Hi All,
I called up Barclay Card & asked them for details as I heard nothing from them.
First time I go through to some stupid lady with no brain at all, so I called again. This lady was very helpful & explained me what changes were planned, in detail.
Initially she said if you havent heard from us then this change does not affect you.
I said if I lost that very important letter :rotfl: in the post, then how would I even know. Cant you check for me now?
So she said that there are 2 types of programmes:
1. 1750 (older version). This is going to change.
2. 2500 (newer version). This remains unaffected.
So if you call up & ask them to update your account with this information, you should be fine, I guess. :money:
I hope this helps.0
