Northern Rock ISA transfer out

Hi there,

I had a fixed Rate Cash Isa with Northern Rock last year which matured last December 2009.
I received an offer to transfer it to another fixed Rate Isa in November 2009 which I sent off, however it was too late and as I was overseas I just found out about it.
I asume it automatically went to the "low interest" ISA.

Because of this I would like to transfer it to another provider. Does anyone know if there are any transfer out costs involved with Northern Rock?

Which one would be a good choice? I might need to transfer some money out within a year...
I would prefer a provider with online access and monthly interest payments.

Cheers,

Frank

The only penalties you might incur with an ISA is a loss of interest if it was a fixed rate isa, assuming it allowed you to withdraw. In your case there should be no charges.

Birmingham Midshires do a monthly interest ISA (ISA Extra - Monthly Interest), there is an annual interest version so beware if you are specifically after MI.

****This account is a Postal account, no online access**** I can't find a MI ISA with online access.
    • For the first 12 months -you'll receive an interest rate of 2.67% tax free / 2.70% AER*
    • From 12 to 15 months - you'll receive an interest rate of 2.67% tax free / 1.95% AER*
    • Bonus rate - for the first 15 months the rates include a 0.98% tax free bonus rate
    • After 15 months - the interest will revert to 1.69% tax free / 1.70% AER*
    • Tax free savings - you don’t need to pay any income tax on your interest
    • Save from £500 - up to £5,100 in the current tax year
    • No withdrawal charges - unlimited transactions with no loss of interest
    • Transfers from other Cash ISAs allowed
