    Don't we all? :rotfl:

Love the cover of the book mardatha - it's one of those kind of unique presents that will stand out from all others.

Before my daughter became ill/I lost my job/car failed it's MOT - my OH and I used to go hiking - totally loved it. Back to basics, at one with nature. I don't care how corny it sounds, it's a wonderful past time to have, and I was always chuffed to bits with any present my daughters and step daughters used to get me that was hiking orientated, so I reckon you son is gonna be chuffed to bits with that :)

Don't know how I manage without one! :rotfl:

I agree 100% about getting back to nature. It feels amazing when I go up the mountains. Our mountains are probably just hills but I am calling them mountains anyway.

You've really gone and done it now. I've just had a healthyish veggie cottage pie thing that didn't remotely hit the spot and now I would kill for fish and chips. I am even drooling slightly.

Hippiechiq, yep we have some pretty bits ... just wish I could get out there more!

Oh I just got a 15 minute reminder that the Snowdonia programme is starting. Off to make a vat of tea and see what I can rustle up in lieu of fish and chips.

Why do I keep fancying fish and chips :rotfl:
Been a busy week with lots of making do and mending. Am stocked up quite well ready for winter and feeling quite satisfied about it, anything is better than last year in the big freeze!

Frantically knitting ready for the 'c' word but hindered by a little man crashing round in his baby walker as Dd started her new job on Monday!! They phoned her Sunday to tell her she started next day - cake decorator at Mr M's newest shop 5 mins from her house :T:T:T
So we are doing shifts with Sil till a childminder is in place. Im loving it but don't think i could do full time . Just happy she got the job she wanted. Didnt realise how mucky my cushionfloor was till we took up the rug so the babywalker moves better :rotfl:

Dandelion heads in a pancake - errrr....summat I didnt like about that - so wont be trying it again......What bit of dandelions are you thinking of trying? Leaves, roots or heads? All are edible incidentally..

Chickweed - I'm still in process of trying to grow my own from seed - but havent actually used it yet...

BTW Mardatha - couch grass roots are described as sweet in taste. One commentator compared them to liquorice - well for a sweetie lover like yourself - you might like it.

    I've not tried it - yet - give me time...give me time..:rotfl:

Ways of using it I have read of are using the roots as stirfry veggie and one can also dry it and grind it into a a sort of meal (which can be used to make bread with).

With your liking for sweet things - then maybe you might want to experiment with that and use that meal for making cakes with???
