I am thinking of going to 02 for they are offering a better package to what i get now and 0845 and 0870 are included where as Pipex do not give me that. my question is If 02 say to join you have to have a BT landline then when you check they say,
At the moment, we can't offer broadband or home phone on your line. We will in the future. Please register your interest.
Why Is this please??? My wife the other day had to call Pipex about my bill being increased without notification the operator gave her £10 for not recieving the letter and asked her was she staying with them when my wife said we are not sure yet she offered the first 2 months at half price if we did. My wife said she would have to talk it over with me as its my name on the bill and the operater hung up. now i am thinking they might have gone ahead and signed us up without consent. Just out of curiosity I checked out AOL as my exchange supports them and they couldn't offer me anything either AOL said.
UNFORTUNATELY, we are unable to process your order.
… as our records indicate you may have equipment in your home that is incompatible with broadband.
This could be equipment such as an ISDN line, Home Highway, digital line splitting equipment or unsuitable telephone cabling.
I dont understand any of this, Any advice would be appreciated please

Thank you for your interests in O2 Broadband and home phone services.
As you've mentioned an incompatible product on your telephone line, you need to find out what it is first from your telephone provider as you’re the owner of that landline. This information is only held with them and any different ISP will not be able to confirm that for you or on your behalf.
The solution to your problem can be resolved only when you get the incompatible product removed from your telephone line.
Hope this helps!

If your line was unbundled by Pipex you cant get O2 because you have not got a BT Line.0
-
If your line has been LLU'd by Pipex then you will have to do a return to donor back to BT first for 12m line rental, after that is done you can place your broadband with O2.
It's not possible to go direct from one LLU service to another. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

You can place your broadband with O2 if you have the BT Line.No need to wait 12 months.0 -
I didn't mean to suggest that the OP had to wait 12m, only that the line has to be transferred back to BT first, which involves a committment to 12m line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi, I'm so sorry to hijack the thread but I was hoping that the o2 customer rep could look at this thread and give his/her advice and there doesn't seem to be a way to contact them direct.

Thanks Ames for bringing this to my attention, I've just responded the OP’s thread to seek some further information from the customer.

O2 rep, could you let me/us know how you responded to the OP, as I also would like to move to O2. I'm with TT and the only way that I can see past this problem (without going back to BT on an 18 (BT tell me 18 months is the minimum) month contract, is to go to Post Office on a 30 day contract and switch from there.
Workable?
Edit. I just contacted Post Office with the request to move to them for 'phone and BB and was informed that it will cost me £110 to move back. Looks like TT have me by the S and C's.0 -
Hi Norman,
I think you’ve got this muddled up. The OP which Ames highlighted was having issues with the order that was stuck due to some technical reasons and was not able to view the progress of the order online as well. Please see the link as posted above by Ames. I’ve made the OP aware of all the changes I’ve performed and both the problems are now resolved. The order is progressing smoothly and OP is able to view the progress online as well.
Norman in regards to your query, you need to have a BT line to get O2 broadband. However if you’re looking for a way to escape the contract for 18 months, I’m sure the other community members here on the forum will be able to guide and suggest you better.
