I would agree with you. There are a lot of other 'Sirs' out there who haven't done 1/2 as much as Martin. I can just see him blushing now. However I think he will get better and better and is still very young. Maybe a few years!!!

He deserves it but it would embarrass him in his future political career, so he would probably turn it down.

Unless it slipped out that he had turned down a knighthood - which would result in credit from all sides .

But he's too nice a chap for those "spin" type games.
