I'd be glad to answer any questions you have.
I recently completed 10 months work experience in the U.S.A and used Fish Text every single day.
So basically it's an application you install to your phone, it should work on any phone really as it's in a java format, the same as the games on your phone.
You make an account on Fish Text and register your phone number etc. This application can then be used to send text messages to anyone you want in any country. It uses the internet to send text messages, so your only charged data costs by your provider. For example, when in the U.S., I sent many text back to friends at home. I was on T-Mobile PAYG at the time and for every text I sent using Fish Text, T-Mobile charged me 1p of data, sometimes even nothing as they amount of data used is absolutely tiny. Secondly, you add Fish Text credit to your Fish Text account, I knew I was going to use this a lot, so I always added £20 and got an extra £5 free. For every text I sent, 2p would go from my Fish Text credit, making the total cost per text 3p. However, this varies depending on who you are sending the text to, U.K. is always 2p per text.
For international texting, this is definitely the way to go. You can always send texts from the Fish Text website too on your computer and save on those 1p per text data costs. Oh and you can give it a trial, I think they give you 10 free texts or something when you sign up.
I never took advantage of this, but sending Fish Text to Fish Text is free, but it means you'll incur more data charges as you'll keep having to check your Fish Text inbox.
Hope this helps.0
