Our M&S shares bought via 2 Maxi ISAs are now worth much less than we paid for them 5 years ago or so. To add insult to injury RBS charge us £30 'maintenence' each p.a. so we decided to close the account, get the shares certificates and sit on them for a while. I was advised that in order to get my share certificate we now must each pay £85.00 !
