The one with the cheesecake recipe ;)

    Tarnation.

Wrote a long post and lost it.

BBQ was lovely. Took saus and H/m lemonade.

Have some mango cheesecake, Ani - warning:it's very filling! (From memory: flesh of a mango blended with zest and juice of a lime. Separately, whisk 1.5 tubs cream chesse with 1/4 pt double cream, 275g. melted white chocolate and half the mango mix. Put on biscuit base made of 10 crushed digestives mixed with a bit of melted butter. Top with remainder of mango mixture.)

Black peas - sounds good. I like pulses and I should have them more often. Bet your cholesterol is lower than mine! ;)

We have holly berries, too. I wonder if the warm spring has brought them on?

Multi quotes only works on multiple posts, and then only if the little white tick shows up after you click on the orange speech bubble - and possibly not even then!

I'm trying to get my head round the idea of playing the trumpet... that would take so much more confidence than I have! What a marvellous instrument, though.

I don't think I've always wanted to be musical. I seem to remember I was about eleven when I started to get interested: that was when I first had lessons. If I'd been sensible I would have seen I didn't have much aptitude, and concentrated on art or writing, but I'm not much good at letting go of things I've started (my boss told me I'm a completer/finisher which makes sense to me). Nowadays the discipline and focus has been very valuable to me as a way of stopping myself worrying and stressing especially last year when my mum's health was so poor. My brain was too busy trying to decode what was in front of me to think about mum as much and my emotions were being soothed by what I could hear, and my hands were busy... yes, it's been a big help. Not a vocation by any means.

I wonder if at some point you will have the chance to try the trumpet?

I made absolutely no progress on meals. DD did introduce us to M&S 99p sausages, though, and we liked those.

Anything tastes good when its barbecued :rotfl:

Sigh - i have'nt been to a barbeque for donkeys, since i don't have friends to invite me to one, and a barbeque for one just is'nt the same. Besides, bbq'ing would'nt be allowed in colditz :p

I spoke to this person yesterday, and they came straight out and said, i don't have any friends. I laughed and said, nor so i. They said something else, and i asked, are you an arian? We both roared with laughter. Mines the 7th, whens your's, they asked..............

Of course, i'm not saying this is indicative of all arians :rotfl:

Thanks for the cheesecake recipe. As this is me, your talking to, i can't say for sure if i'll ever get round to making it, but i should make an effort to physically take note of the recipe, before it takes me a whole day to find this post, sometime in the future

Money Fritter posted a recipe for a lentil meal, in their diary, which looks yummy, too, if you are interested.

Cholesterol - whats that? I've no idea what my cholesterol level is, nor my weight, not my bmi, etc, etc, etc. Frankly, i don't really care. I'm ambivalent toward that too, and always have been. Calories. I don't have a clue what a calorie is, or the calorific, value of food. I never check anything. I have'nt a clue how much i weigh. How sad is that? I could take a rough guess, and like anyone, think i should be healthier/ weigh less? I don't know. I hate lunchtimes at work where every conversation revolves around weight, diets and food. I always think, can't you find anything else to talk about for a change? I'm fed up of the same conversation, in which i have no interest. But maybe i've always been fortunate, in my constitution.

I know i'm not as fit as i should be / would like to be,and acknolwledge that fact, but this is easily remedied by excercise, which i don't have time / can't afford to take, right now. Yes - i know walking is free, and i'm still walking a fair bit, although not for pleasure/ leaisure. I'd like to have the time / money to restart playing badminton and tennis as there are clubs within 5 minutes walk of here, and i could be playing almost every night of the week. This is a distant dream, at the moment.

    Multiquotes = technophobe. Sorry :rotfl:

Would you have to be confident to play a trumpet? More so than any other instrument? Surely you have to be confident to play any musical instrument? I guess the benefits of the piano is the notes are already in place. All you have to do, is play them in the right sequence :rotfl:, with expression, ( well theres an anology of music ) :p With all other instruments, you've got to find or ' hit ' the notes. Hang on, thats excludes, harps, too, and organs..........

Maybe i should look for a trumpet at the pawn shop, one day :)

Ooops, sorry for such a long post in your diary. I still feel i have no right to be here, as i'm not sure if its a diary to yourself.

Strangely, my DH is Arian born on 7th, and he "doesn't do" friends either, which really tests my gregarious :beer:Gemini nature, sigh!

Strangely, i get on really well with gemini's. I think its, they say, its the mental challenge, that attracts them.

Its not that i don't ' do ' friends, i think its more a case of most people don't ' do ' me, or ' get ' me. Maybe i have a different perception of what is required of a friend, as i'm intensely loyal, and expect the same back, thereof. Maybe i ask too much of other people, the same as i do of myself?

Of course most people would say all this is tosh, but i'm a strong believer that birthdates and times can definitely have some bearing on personality traits. I've seen it, so many times. All the arians i've ever met have been virtually a carbon copy of myself. Hmmmm

But there is nothing wrong with me, except maybe expectations are too high. Was that what you were talking about with high flyers, miggy? I've never, ever, classed myself as a high flyer. No. Not me.

I forgot to say. My last 3 ' relationships ', or would be relationships, were gemini's, and even more bizarre, virtually the same date. Two were born on the 7the of june and one on the 8th june, (or vice versa, i can't remember which way round it was ). Now you could never have chosen those people out, if they were stood in front of you :rotfl: At which point i said, no more gemimi's for relationships, in fact, no more realtionships, full stop, and i've been on my own for years now :rotfl::rotfl:

But is'nt that more of a man thing? unless they are going out with their mates? :D

I don't do horoscopes, but my two elder kids - both party animals - are Arian. :D In fact one of them informed me, on being questionned when she told me so-and-so was her 'best friend', that she had nine best friends!

Ani, I've titled the mango recipe post in case you need to find it again. :D

Busy day today followed by night shift so I'm not sure quite when I will be back to finish replying - but I love having visitors, all are welcome and please feel free to comment; if I'm not around just leave your cup on the draining board and if you finish the biscuits/cheesecake can you leave me a note? This being a virtual kitchen table you may find they replenish themselves without my help. :)

Well so much for the budget... actually we're still within it but not sure that's going to last.
DS offered to make fajitas and I did a quick reckoning:

For: I'm tired and working tonight
want to encourage his culinary skills and do a bit of family bonding
Agin: would have to buy ingredients
    has it got chilli in?
can get ingredients more cheaply if I'm willing to walk further and go to Netto.

They were yummy. I even bought hot chocolate but have avoided the washing powder and coffee... well I was going to get coffee but when I looked they didn't have the one I wanted and tbh we have coffee, just not decaff, so I can't have as much. Last little bit of decaff is lasting well, though. This is very important :).
