Elfen, sounds like you had a really positive session with the psych, hopefully now you've made a real breakthrough and found someone who's right for you to be able to get help from.

Pap, sounds great, but have you checked you need to pay for the course? There's usually funding available for people on a low income, especially for things like signing.

I've slept all day, don't know why. Didn't make it to the women's clinic cos I wasn't up to waiting for hours as it's a drop in. Did go to my drum lesson though which was fab!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

  • Kayleigh, I thought of this the other day. Have you changed your car insurance? If you haven't and you have an accident while working your insurance maybe invalid :o

Good luck with college, I am hoping to get back into college in September too :D

Yes, I changed it before I started work. That's even more that needs paying off the cards. :(
ghost, talk to student welfare, there might be a Learners Support Fund which will pay the fees if you are on low income.

Unfortunately, the only support they give are for people on benefits or with no qualifications beforehand. And annoyingly, they don't count council tax exception as council tax benefit so I don't fall into the right category. I'm in a kind of limbo atm, not quite a student but still one at the same time.

Are there any grants you could get? Going off at a slight tangent, have you thought about Makaton? or is it definitely BSL that you want to do? The Makaton course at my local place (pm me if you want details) isn't too expensive.

No, I don't recieve benifits so I can't get a grant/discount. I looked into Makaton but I think BSL is more versatile. Its also easier to go from BSL to something like ASL if i were to change country etc. Thanks anyways :D

You should get a fee waiver Pap.

Sadly I can't Beanie but £300 isn't too bad I don't think. I could get it at another college for £260 but you have to pay for the whole of level one. If for some reason I hate it I would be tied, this one is split which I would prefer, plus its not a huge outlay. Voluntering is something I have always wanted to do, to sign and the vounteer would be fab.

Ames, I suppose I could phone them and check but on the website you need to be in reciept of a benifit :(

Butti, have you signed up :T I can't wait, although I need to try and cover some more distance :o
