He will get credited with his NI as he is over 60, whether he signs on or not. However, he already has enough for his full State Pension.
He will get his full State Pension at his retirement age. Between now and then, he will not be eligible for a means-tested Benefit such as Pension Credit, as their joint income is too high.
But he no longer needs to sign on if he does not want to.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
