...Then I'll decide what next to do as I still feel the first communication with a customer shouldn't be a warning of bailiffs coming to my house. They'd found my address when they physically were coming for the money, but didn't beforehand.

I think you should put in a formal complaint, making the above one of your major points.

I've going to wait for their letter before beginning a complaint. I'd had a lovely day at work and been out for dinner with friends afterwards planning things in summer. Then this hit when we got home and everything went downhill.

It is very stressful when you receive a letter like this, especially when you know it's not your fault and if they'd checked their records they would have found out the details.

I'm also a bit suprised that the court allowed them to get to this stage as well, so I'll be equally sending a letter to them to query how it got there and what evidence Manchester council had provided to them to get the order. I don't like to think my name has been in court - I actually bought the local newspaper on Thursday evening to check my name wasn't in there - Salford's local paper 'names and shames' everyone who has been before the court and my next worry was that family/friends may have seen it! Thank god they're not published for Manchester Court!!

    Have a good weekend all,

    P :)

Too late now but exactly the same thing happened to me! It was also pretty easily sorted by explaining to the council so if it happens to anyone else try not to panic like the OP and I did.

Sadly, when court action has 'happened', and no-one is available to speak with at that time as they're shut, it's very difficult not to panic!
