Do I need a BT line to connect to the Internet?

I wonder if anyone can help me. My husband and I will be staying with our parents for a while whilst we save a deposit for a mortgage. I want to keep using the internet there but due to a dispute they had with BT they no longer have an active BT line. Do I need a BT line to connect? I currently pay a monthly charge to Wanadoo (now Orange). Any suggestions ?

Some ISP require you to connect via a BT line , but others don't.
However unless you are near a pay/subscription wireless hot spot or plan to use 3G or GPRS then you will need some sort of phone line or cable connection.
Alternitvely you could move to Norwich City Centre where you can now get free wireless internet which is provided by the council!!!!0 -
Try ntl or telewest. You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

I pay £14.99 a month for Telewest "Broadband only" product. Free installation too.
Catch? 12 month contract (might not suit your temp situation).0
