I don't think you realise what you are considering taking on, it will be too much for you. I agree Social Services will step back and leave you to it. I would work towards keeping her as independent as possible with the help of Social Services where needed. I also think it would be best for her to keep as much of her independence as possible. She may feel guilty as well for putting extra strain on you.
