I've just got its smaller brother the Wildfire and think its great. Screen isn't quite so good and the cpu isn't as fast but it can do pretty much the same as the Desire, it's a lot cheaper too!
Useful is beautiful0 -
It's regarded as being the best phone available at the moment by a lot of people, including myself.0

The bro inlaw 's got one and he thinks the battery life aint that good on em. prepare to charge every night
Saying that , i agree with anewhope its a fantastic fon-doodle:p0 -
I have a HTC Hero which is the best phone I have ever had.
The niggles I have (a bit laggy) do not affect the Desire (better hardware).
If you are a tweaker, there is simply no other phone around.0 -

I really love mine! Had it for 2 months now. I had an iPhone 3Gs before and think this is much better. I have not missed Apple's seemingly better App store in the slightest!
I got mine for free from the Carphonewarehouse on a £35 Orange contract.0 -
I convinced my father in law to have it as he really wanted an iphone. He actually loves it (however at his age he has issues with such a complex phone).
2 things I would change with the desire:
Battery life
Not that important but the Phone Design (make it more sleek)0
