Vodafone and Quidco

Just a heads up on my experience with buying a sim-only deal from Vodafone through Quidco.

Now Quidco define Vodafone as a fast payer with settlement etc within 1 month.

Well, last November I bought a sim only contract through Quidco. I understood that it would take a couple of months to be validated etc, but it is now July 7th 2010 and I am still waiting for my £25. Voda only confirmed it on 14th April and have still not paid Quidco !!! At least, according to my account.

Now that is at odds with the Quidco claim that Voda are Fast payers, I am sure you will agree.

So I have asked Quidco to re-categorise Voda from Fast.

I may be the exception, I obviously don't know, but just a point I thought MSE members might like to be aware of when choosing a network with a cashback site.

I'm in the same boat... new phone and contract ordered 16th November, transaction validated 17th April, still waiting for Vodafone to pay up the £90.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail

Just had this reply from Quidco.

Your Vodafone purchase is currently going through the normal validation and payment period, which can take around 6 months in total from the date of purchase to the cashback being received by Quidco.

Tracked* status is used by some of the retailers on our site and it means that the purchase is unlikely to be explicitly validated. Instead it will move straight to either received or declined status at the end of the validation period.

    Kind regards,

This was in reply to my email below to Quidco less than an hour ago, so thanks to Quidco at least for a prompt reply

Your web site claims Vodafone are a "FAST" settler approximately 1 month. My deal through you was in NOVEMBER 2009 and it has still not been settled.

Please chase this or re-categorize Vodafone on your web site."

Even by my calendar, November to July is more than 6 months. Lets hope Quidco do the decent thing and down-grade Vodafone from FAST.

    Hi,

I thought I would post on here to address your concerns.

The stats on our site are taken from an average based on validation transactions over the last three months. We are still chasing up outstanding payments from older transactions and, as always, we will continue to do so until we receive these for you.

It is also worth mentioning that payment for validated earnings enquiries does take a little longer to come through anyway. The stats are based on validated transactions only at this stage although they are under review for improvement.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Jules

Good to see you on here, Jules. Let me quote you what your web site says about Vodafone. see http://www.quidco.com/mobiles/vodafone/

"Tracking speed (from purchase date) Fast (avg. 0-1 days)
Payment speed (from validation date) Fast (avg. 1 month)"

Want to check that out and get back to us??????? Or maybe you might like to PM me and then look into my case which, if your 3-month stats are correct, must be an exception.

Putting incorrect and blatantly untrue information about a supplier's settlement history casts doubt on Quidco's integrity as well as the supplier.

    Update:-

    20 Jul 10 at 09:32
From Quidco following another email to them from me

We are currently experiencing delays with payment of Vodafone transactions due to their affiliate network being behind with their processing, and we are working hard with them to rectify the situation. Please be assured that we will continue to do so until the issue is resolved for all members affected by this delay.

In the meantime I would like to thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards,

    My reply

    Thanks for that update.

So, if you are experiencing delays, will you now downgrade their status from FAST to something more appropriate?

This will be much fairer to your members and also act as a jog to their resolution. You owe it to those who may be wavering between, say, O2 and Vodafone to be truthfully told of the actual settlement track record.

Let's see what happens. Both Quidco's reputation and Vodafone's (what is left of it) are in the frame here.

Never had payment declined by Quidco - had a few enquiries and always got paid, sometimes takes a while but really its money for nothing!
You cant take the trousers off an elephant!
  • Signed up for the 12 month sims-only back in November also - initially Quidco didn't track, so I waited three month just to file a ticket. Eventually it was validated in April. However it has not been paid, even though they told me it would be within 120 days of validation.

    Anyway got this from them:

'We are currently experiencing delays with payment of Vodafone transactions due to their affiliate network being behind with their processing, and we are working hard with them to rectify the situation. Please be assured that we will continue to do so until the issue is resolved for all members affected by this delay.'

Really not pleased at all. Definitely not renewing contract neither. :(

Still no joy, but I thought I would like to share the following exchange with you.

As stated these are based on real averages, this being just averages some will take longer some be quicker but on average most transactions are paid quickly. You also have to take into account that your transaction required an enquiry which set this back four months. ...........................

    Kind regards,

Thank you for the prompt reply. What was the 4 month set back enquiry you are referring to, please? Must have slipped my mind.

    Many thanks

    You are welcome.

When an enquiry is raised it can slightly delay our normal process and this is what my colleague is referring to.

    Kind regards,

    Adele

So, that means if you raise a query about a missing payment with Quidco, expect your cashback to be delayed by anything up to 4 months.

    Unbelievable!
