Pay As You Go and HTC Desire

Hi

Sorry for another HTC Desire thread, but I have not been able to find this question answered anywhere.

If I buy an unlocked, sim-free HTC Desire, will I be able to use my current T-Mobile Pay As You Go sim card with it? I would not like to shell out £350+ on the phone, only to find that my sim card won't work and have to buy a new sim card on pay monthly, as this would end up costing me more than if I just purchased the phone on contract.

Thanks
Paul

it will work but often the data allowance on PAYG is poor (not sure about what t-mobile offer) so you may end up paying a lot for your data use, a SIM only contract with inclusive data might be a better option

You'd need a data addon or you're going to be topping up every day. The Desire steams through data.

I'd do a search on shutting off all the data service that you won't need (I think the weather app is checking every few minutes for example).

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I am currently using a Samsung Tocco Lite (borrowed from my mum after my old Samsung D500 phone got damaged). I have currently got an allowance of "unlimited internet" free for 6 months, which I believe (and may be incorrect) has a limit of 40MB per day. When I'm at home I will be using the internet through my wi-fi, so will only be using any data allowance when I use the internet on the phone when I am out and about - and that would be just looking at web pages rather than watching videos.
