A positive ISA Transfer experience!

Hi

After reading all the threads on here I was dreading transferring an ISA from First Direct. I decided to go with Halifax rather than Nationwide, mainly due to people's experience on here.

So the ISA transfer form was handed in on the 22nd June at the branch, received notification from First Direct that the funds had been sent to the halifax on the 1st July and then the Halifax ISA was showing up online with the funds on the 6th July!! I am amazed it happened so fast and just goes to show that it really doesn't need to take weeks and weeks.

Having said that the halifax did key it wrong and we had to phone up to get the amount left to invest sorted but it was fixed quickly and easily without any hassle.

Maybe this is a sign that things are going to get better!?

It was probably a quick transfer because there's little movement in ISAs at the moment. The slowest transfers always occur during the busy period around the end of one tax year and the start of the next tax year - precisely when the best offers are on the market.

Just thought I'd add to this - I too have had a postive experience!

I transferred my cash ISA from smile (I still feel bad cos I like their ethics, but the interest rate is awful) to Birmingham Midshires about a month ago and it was all completed very fast, even though the BM part was all done through the post.

But as ultrawomble (ace name) says - it's a quiet time of year!

My A&L to Halifax took about 2 weeks, pretty happy with that tbh.
