No, I'm thinking that if you're considering benefit fraud things must be desperate. But obviously not that desperate if you can afford foreign holidays. It would go down well in Court having spent illegally obtained benefits on holidays!

How are you going to pay for a holiday if you need to [STRIKE]defraud[/STRIKE] claim benefits?

ok im male+not making posts up.
im asking for my wife(we are separated).
her mum ceased trading so no redundancy,
she has already had the £190 grant+shes not had any pay since 20/5/10,because her mum ceased trading theres been hassle with hmrc about mat.allowance(her employer/mum has no money to pay it)
as they dont use this site,im using it for her.
    baby due 19/7/10.
    hope this answers your questions.

It does and Thankyou.... you will get better advice if you are honest....

Maternity allowance is only payable for a certain amount of weeks before the due date which maybe why there has been hassle in getting it. And I think is only payable for a few weeks after the birth.
Maternity allowance is different to maternity pay. Maternity allowance is paid by the state because you do not meet the criteria for statatury maternity benefits.
I think the best thing your wife can do is go and see a Surestart person, they work with health visitors etc and can help in finding exactly what your wife will be entitled to in the form of maternity pay. Job centre can also help with this.

It is difficult to decide if two people are a couple or not.... I still can't get my head around it it will depend on the people that are investigating you if your circumstances are brought to their attention. Truthfully going on foreign holidays together while being on benefits and living seperately would make me grass you up.

Get help for your gambling (there is advice here), get yourself a job (any job at this stage) and start concentrating on providing for your family.
