T-Mobile have done me over can I do owt?
Hello, I have just tried to change from T-Mobile PAYG to Vodaphone monthly sim only contract, keeping my existing number. Being a complete ignoramus in these matters I was unaware I would need to unlock my Motorola W375 phone (old but I love it) until I had gone thru the entire process (obtained a PAC from T-Mobile, bought the SIM, T-Mobile de-registered my old sim and then when I put the vodaphone sim into my phone, it asked me for a "Subsidy password". On phoning T-mobile to get an unlock code or subsidy password, they told me they could'nt give me this as the number is longer current:eek::mad:!!! At no point did they inform me about this, although the smarmy guy on the line said it was in the terms and conditions (I wonder where these are hidden) Does anyone know if there is a way around this as I really want to keep my phone?

All is not lost, you just need to get the phone unlocked. The majority of unlockers (phone shops and market traders) should be able to do this in minutes for a few quid

Try looking on fleabay for a seller to purchase the unlock code. The ones I've used send the code within 24hrs of receiving payment and you can unlock from the comfort of your arm chair.0

Go down the market - much better bet then fleabay - or even T mobile! cost probably £10ish
To be fair to T mobile most people here would have guessed it needed to be unlockedTANSTAAFL !0 -
It's not really a big issue. You've moved from T-Mobile so they don't see you as a customer any longer. Go to a high street and look for phone unlockers. I had about 4 within 100 yards, but they all wanted £10- took 15mins.0
