    I know you mean well and want to save me some money, but I do not even know what an olive is (in the plumbing sense!).

    I really do not mind paying a plumber a fair price for a job and peace of mind and all that, but I just don't want to be ripped off this time.

    well you are talking parts and labour..

    plumber needs a cup off tea and natter so 1 hours labour and the cost of parts.

    You just need to ask yourself what you are willing to pay him for 1 hr work ..

    Why not have a look on Youtube ............. I'm sure you will find someone doing a plumbing video ! I love doing my own DIY etc and if I am unsure I search Youtube.
