Hi everyone
To cut a long story short me and my partner decided to get engaged been together 6 years but couldnt afford much so we decided to order a 9ct white gold ring that was saphire stones that looked like diamonds, ring arrived and we realised it was a size to big still hadnt decided if it was the ring as it was very big and unrealistic looking but my partner sneaked off and got it resized also i though the setting looked as if it was off to one side but thought it was just as it wasnt a perfect fit but the jeweller resized and confirmed the setting was off. The website we bought the ring off stated they could resize so thought it would be fine about having it resized now we have returned the ring due to the setting me off to one side and the jeweller said the ring was not worth what we paid for it 250.00 now the company have recieved it back they say they will not refund i dont know what to do i now realise we shouldnt have got this resized with another jeweller but i dont know what we can do, we had taken this to a good jeweller to get resized and it wasnt cheap the company is saying the stamp has been polished and thats why they wont accept return

I dont think there is anything you can do.0

thanks for reply i just dont agree with what they say because the ring setting is off to one side and now im left with a ring at 250.00 that i do not want and is not worth that0
-
But you had it changed so you loose the right to send it back as they could argue the other jewellers damaged it. Never get anything changed if you are not sure you want.0
-
resized which i dont see as changed whenever the site only had two sizes and offered a resize anyway0
-
its advice i want not what i already have heard from the company0

Have I got this right?
You bought a gold ring mail order, chopped some of the gold out, soldered the join and polished the hall mark and now the seller won’t refund?
Trading standards and the small claims court should be your next stop. You could also try a letter to your MP0 -

im sorry if i sounded rude as i say my partner took it to get resized before he gave it to me worst mistake ever now i just dont know what to do then after i decided it was to big and wasnt happy about it sitting to one side he told me the jeweller said it was only worth about 100.000

The only things you can do are to sell the ring on if you don't want it, and punctuate.0

Thanks Caroline i had thought on that but i wouldnt be able to sell it at the stupid price i paid for it online but i will maybe have to give it a go0
