Rugged phone, anyone please?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a moderately priced and relatively modern rugged phone for my brother in law who is a mechanic.Something that will survive the inevitable numerous falls.Any recommendations please?

Pay as you go or contract? As soon as I read "rugged phone" I thought of the Land Rover phone. It's meant to be completely indestructible:

I've recently sold on Ebay a Samsung B2100 Solid Extreme which I think is just what you need and considerably cheaper than the other phones mentioned above.

You'll probably be able to get one on Ebay for maybe £70 or so.

It really is very tough and totally waterproof - I immersed mine in a number of foul liquids just because I could!

If you look on YouTube there are a few videos of people doing all sorts of things to it and it surviving!

I only sold it because I needed the cash and couldn't really justify having a phone I never actually used - sold it to someone who I think was a surfer!
