i have an 07 corsa and the ABS light is staying on, do any of you know what the cause of this is likely to be and how much will it be to get fixed, i have booked it in to a Vauxhall dealership for next week and they are charging £30 to look at it.

For that you will get a scan, it should hopefully pinpoint what is causing the warning light but it can be anything from a major component to a broken wire. Have you had any work done on it recently?

providing it is not over 60k miles and has full vauxhall service history they will normally contribute a % towards repair if you ask at dealers, they used to call it the VCAN scheme when i worked there so worth asking them.

Ours had been going on and off for a while then it was on all the time. Used a pressure washer on all the wheels front and back (I mean behind the wheels too). Went out the next day and never been back on since.

That worked for my Range Rover too.

Before you fit a new sensor try taking the wheel off and pressure washing around the back of the brake disc (as suggested by Scotsman) as it may be dirt build-up on the sensor (had this on my Alfa Romeo in the winter, when I guess salt build up did it) then trace the wire from the sensor back to find its connecting plug (will be either under the wheelarch, or maybe just inside the boot behind a removable panel) unplug it, clean the connectors and put a bit of Vaseline on it then plug it back in. Sometimes the connection gets a bit corroded, increasing the resistance which causes an erroneous reading back to the ECU. Had this on my Citroen.

    Might save you £83

An ABS sensor for a Corsa C (up to 2007 model) is £40
