digital luggage scales

I do a lot of travelling and I bought the Salter digital scales from Amazon for about £13. They are very accurate and worth every penny to know you are not overweight before you go to the airport. The scales are light enough to bring with you on your trip. So when you go somewhere where you are likely to do some shopping you can also check you are not overweight for the return flight.0

Just go to an empty check-in desk. The scales are usually switched on even if the desk is empty.
I was fairly easy going because I knew that the same people would shortly be checking me in to fly home but in reality I wanted to drag them over the checkout desk and explain a little about customer relations.
That employee has now lost my custom for ever with Ryanair.
I would never ever fly with them again.
There was no need to turn them off whatsoever.0 -
I was at Tenerife South airport and the scales were all turned off so I weighed our luggage at a Ryanair desk which had someone there (but no passengers), I then went away and did a bit of re arranging and as I approached again to check my bags were now OK they turned the scales off and told me I could not use them.

'Employee' would be employed by the airport not by Ryanair0 -
But Ryanair are still responsible for the actions of their subcontractors towards their passengers. The passenger has no contract with the airport or the ground handling company.0

True but nowhere in the Ryanair t&c do they say that they provide weighing scales for you to use.0 -
I'm not suggesting they do, but acting towards a passenger in the way that dug123 mentions is simply one of those things that is poor form.0

Terms and conditions do not generally cover being courteous and customer care0 -

Well done, £3.50 well spent.0 -
Friends left from Malaga last night with Ryanair and rang and said lots of people were being charged for overweight luggage. They weighed their cases on our luggage scales and took them with them just in case there was a problem (we don't need them as we will drive back to UK).
Going out on Saturday to buy their own.0
