I have been looking closely at mine but only for just over a week. In a weekday I used approx 5 units but that was turning everything off except sky box , house alarm, freezer and fridge. I turned off m/wave, tv from standby etc. Over a week I think we used 54 units which was probably having washing machine on twice, tumble drier once. Cook by gas and heat water by gas. But hubby does fall asleep with lights and tv on until small hours of morning!

    hope this helps.

Got my electricity bill today and although I am in credit (£7.50 for the quarter) they suggest I am not paying enough and should put it up from £35 to £40.50. My gas went for £38 to £64. £104.50 a month in total

The June to Sep quarter is the lowest in the year, so to increase your Electric DD approx 16% seems reasonable with the large rises that have happened.

To increase your gas DD by 68% cannot be accounted for by price rises alone. You don't say if you were in debit on your gas account?
  • We use approx 100 units of electricty per week at this time of year and about seven units of gas per week.
