How much will the mortgage be a month? It's bound to be more than the £80 you are paying at the moment and with other bills like council tax on top.

Stop the lessons or reduce them seriously as that won't do any harm. If you really want to keep the horses, look at anywhere i.e. their food where costs can be cut and follwo the advice of the spending diary.

Moving in with that boyfriend seems a mistake as his financial goals are different to yours and he doesn't seem to have the responsibility a co-owner needs to have.

house will be £429 (this and the other items below will be split between me & my bf)
    electric £20
    council tax £30
    water £?
    Food £60

    All per month

I should get rid of the car - got £750 left to pay
I can't turn on of my horses out as he's a colt
The grazing at the yard is crap and can't turn mare out as often as id like due to this - if i had my own yard id save a fortune!

My bf just text me and told me to knock the idea of the house on the head! my dad is bonkers and i can't go on living with BF and his gran! it's driving me nuts. im paying £20 a week just to kip there - i buy my own food as i get home very late i want to make my own meals, i shower at dads as all my clothes are there (we're almost neighbours in case your wondering).
i just feel very scared and feel trapped:(

Well get rid of the horses and you can afford to move out. That's your choice.

Hate to be harsh but the reality is that you are trying to live a lifestyle you cannot afford, with the horses and all that comes with them.
It is hard, but you seriously need to either get rid or find a way to make money from the horse!!!

Nina, what's up with the SOA?
According to what you have put in, you should have 624 left at the end of the month.

Are all the figures you have in there the monthly cost?
    eg groceries?

Secured/HP loan repayments.............. 410 This is the HP and unsecured debts
    Rent.................................... 80 (£20 per week?)
Mobile phone............................ 50 Can you change to PAYG or get a cheaper tariff?
Groceries etc. ......................... 40 per month?
    Petrol/diesel........................... 80
Car Insurance........................... 60 Check for cheaper offers - is this car and Jeep?
Pet insurance/vet bills................. 66 again, use the comparison sites for a bettter deal.

You still have a few gaps - what about road tax?
Do you have £624 lef over at teh end of each month? If not it might be worth keeping a spending diary so you know exactly where all your money is going.
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

If you went on a DMP then I doubt the creditors would agree to it when you're spending so much on horses.

You need to redo the SOA with all of your costs, animals included, and make sure that all your figures are monthly. I think that your costs for when you buy your house are wildly optimistic too. It also seems that you can't rely/depend on your OH making his contributions given his attitude. I mean, making such a serious decision as not buying the house by text?!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Depending on what type of stable you board at is there anything you could be doing to reduce the costs there? My friend used to board horses and she would help with mucking out and chores a few nights round the stables in exchange for a reduction on costs. The stables was also a riding school so she allowed one of her horses to be used for a few of the advanced lessons (she didn't want the beginners riding him, though don't know if that would work for you since you show the horses). Also if it's a school maybe you could help out with some of the lessons, if you are competing then must be at a relatively high standard. Have you checked round all local stables to see you're getting the best deal, maybe there is one that has local grazing so you could save a bit on food.
Unfortunately if you are going to be able to get your own house with the bills that come with it then the horse expenses need to be cut back some :(

You asked for some good advice. If I had a monthly income of £1,410 and spent £500 on a hobby and was struggling to pay debts, what good advice would you give me?

My passion is sailing. I love sailing. Sailing, like horses, is an expensive hobby. My income is more than double yours but my budget only allows me to spend £200 a month (which is one weekend's sailing) a month. I'd love to do more, I want to do more BUT I can't afford it.
