I recently applied for 2 bank accounts and was accepted for both, one a Halifax and the other Alliance and Leicester. The incentive for the A&L was the £100,also full current accounts.

So I thought I'll apply for the Evan's card as it can be used in 6 other shops, Wallis etc...........

I applied last night, out of hours, so it said they would email me the decision the next day.
Got an email this afternoon We're Sorry............................
It then said please click on the icon to give you an idea on the decline! I click and it just brings up an advert for the Santander Credit Card Zero:o

I would like to have an idea why I was declined, because I'm sure getting a bank account with an overdraft would need a higher score?

Also, rang their helpline number who couldn't give me any help at all, gave me an address in Leeds.

Any thoughts please, oh yes I was successful in getting a store card with Ikano. On the Evan's application it mentioned paying by direct debit and I ticked to pay in full option. Wondering if they thought no money made from this person.

Might be the number of applications and the subsequent searches that you have made recently that have affected your credit score. Only way to find out really is to obtain your credit file from Equifax or Experisn.

In 12 month's I've only had 4 searches, I subscribe to the CRA's all 3 at the moment, wish I could get hold of someone on the phone!

    Hi brian

Yea the thread was deleted, but it can be reset up. Get Proliant or anyone else who know how to do the links to do it, if they don't mind as I haven't got a clue how to do the links.

So NID has gone and so as seeya. Can't blame them.
