To my knowledge (I took a Business Law module in year 1) ; the contract which you entered was your money in exchange for a brand new undamaged car

Which is what OP will be getting.

If the car is repaired properly (it's only a damaged wing), it will be as good as new. How about asking for the first service to be done for free, as a good will gesture? Get any agreement in writing, though.

I'd ask for a new vehicle (and incur the delay) or a good discount which makes it worthwhile.

After having professional repairs done in the past on vehicles although it looks good to the average joe, closer examination (by for example someone in the trade) will reveal slight differences in the paint job and thus lower the resale value of the car. It's simply (near) impossible to do respray work that is 100% unnoticeable outside of the factory or a complete respray stripping all the bodywork.

I agree, i mix (car) paint myself and know that its almost impossible to mix the exact same colour twice.

Even the pigments have slight variations within a certain tolerance so you will never get the exact result. Then there's the work involved in removing body panels, which is a lot. Usually requiring removing engine parts on newer cars due to the compactness in the engine bay.

Id demand a new car, i wouldnt even want a repair with the discount unless it was massive.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Hi, yes it was white and it was last Friday - was it in somerset?

I did contact Head Office and the dealer has agreed to order me a new car, not ready until September though. Thanks for all your support everyone.

No Oxfordshire, and I think it was Friday before last, so must've been another one!! They need to employ more careful drivers to deliver these vehicles.

It's good you're getting a brand new car though. I think I would have asked for a £2000 discount on the damaged one including having it all repaired and resprayed too!
