I came into some money recently and I needed a new phone, so I thought because I got some money to spare I might as well get one, but when I ask friends and family it starts out as someone saying "Iphone is better!" then the other saying "No blackberry!" and ends with a big fight. so will someone please answer the year old question "Which one is better?"

If you go ahead with the iphone, you will really need to get the iphone 4. No point getting the older 3GS. Iphone 4 at the moment has a reported reception issue and as it's new and relatively untested so far, there will no doubt be more hiccups along the way. Every Tom, !!!!!! and Harry has 1 aswell.
Blackberry is the more stylish phone, more suited for the professional business user. Follow the sheep and get another iphone or be slightly different and get a blackberry.0 -

Only you can know which is best by deciding what YOU want from a handset, they all make and recieve calls/texts, so then you have to decide , PDA , email, camera , music player, sat nav, web rowsing etc etc0 -
Depends what you want from your phone. I have had BlackBerrys for about 3 years. However I'm thinking of going to an iPhone 4. The reason is I can get rid of my iPod Touch and TomTom Sat Nav and put them all on the iPhone.
Each has different features. If you want push email or use email a lot then go for the BlackBerry, also if your friends and family have Blackberry you can use the BlackBerry Messenger at no cost, saves on texts. Most of them apart from the Storm has a qwerty keyboard. The iPhone is a touchscreen.
I don't know a lot about iPhones. I didn't like the previous iPhones but quite like the iPhone 4. It feels better and to me looks better than the 3 or 3GS. If I don't like it I can always go back to BlackBerry. There's rumour of a touchscreen/slider along the lines of the Palm Pre.0 -
I have a work BB8900 but upgraded my personal phone to a 3GS last week. I had loads of apps from my iPod touch and couldn't see what feature I would use on the iPhone 4 above what the 3GS had. I have been very happy with my decision.
A BB is good for business etc and the iPhone is better for fun i.e. apps etc, better web browsing.
If you just want to email and keep track on diary then BB
If you want one that has games etc then iPhone or Android. I did consider a Desire but the fact I had over 100 apps that I love from Apple's App store it made it a no brainer. Mutlitasking on the iPhone is a welcome addition, just wished my 2nd Gen iPod could support it.0 -
I have had a blackberry for 3 years and just moved over to an iphone, I like the e-mail function better on the iphone it syncs both in and out box with my work e-mail, which the blackberry only synced my inbox.
I like the functionality of the iphone much more than the blackberry glad i changed. The only issue I have is that I get slightly worse reception than previously (3gs not the 4). i live in a rural area so signal not great to start off with.
my boss has stayed with blackberry but only uses phone for email and calls... it was an interesting discussion with the man in the o2 shop
boss "whats the diffrence between these blackberries"
shop "what do you use the phone for"
boss "e-mail and calls"
shop "nothing then, this one has a better camera...."The futures bright the future is Ginger0 -
I'm not a business user, and I have a BB Bold and I love it. Does everything I need it to, and more.
iPhones to me are just toys. I don't get on with touchscreens, so BB all the way for me.This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
I'd definitely consider a "third way" and look at HTC / Android.
It really depends on what you need it for...0 -
Plus 1 for HTC Desire0
