I made the an order on the 24th June for an upgrade to an iPhone 4 with Vodafone. On the 30th June I received a despatch notice with tracking number through Parcel Force then a further email followed promising delivery to the Lincoln store by 2nd July.
I inputted the tracking number on the 30th June, 1st and 2nd of July to track the order. Each time the online tracker informed me the tracking number was invalid.
I called the Lincoln store on the 2nd July to make sure they had received my phone and I could collect it. They informed me they had not received it and I should speak to the web order team. I called them immediatly in order to chase up my order. After a brief explanation the operator told me the handset had left the depot on the 30th but would check with Parcel Force seeing as it had not been received by the Lincoln store.
After speaking to Parcel Force, they informed her that the handset had never been collected by them and that my order was still with Vodafone.
I spoke to them 3 times on the 2nd July chasing this up, each time being promised the order was being dealt with and that I would receive an email or phonecall update of my order status. So far I have received no further correspondence even though I called to chase up my order this morning to be given the same explanation.
I have also discovered that payment was taken from my account on the 2nd July.
If this matter is not sorted either today or tomorrow I will be cancelling my order and contract with Vodafone and moving to a provider who will be grateful of my business. I have been a customer for 7 years and a simple answer is all I require.
Is this too extreme at this stage? They had originally promised my order to be availbe for collection on the 25th June. It is now the 5th July and I do not have it.

Sounds like typical service from Vodafone, I'm afraid. I moved from Vodafone years ago because their customer service was carp and haven't looked back. I don't stay with the same provider, but look around for the best deal and the company that are looking to win awards. The only company that are worse that Voda in my experience are Orange. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

Unfortunatly you are right. My sister said the same thing as you. I'm utterly dismayed by it all and actually lost sleep about it last night. I have had the weekend to contemplate it and fully expected the problem to be in hand by this morning. It's now 4pm and I still haven't heard anything. If I receive nothing by tomorrow then its bye bye Vodafone. I've even started a few topics on their forums to ask the moderates to look into, only for them to be locked and deleted within minutes.0

Bye Bye Vodafone by cancelling the direct debit will lead to Hello Hello debt collectors and ruined credit record for years. You need to get Vodafone to cancel the contract before denying any payments or your present dilemna will be as nothing compared with the one which will follow. Lost sleep will be replaced by permanent insomnia. Unfortunately when a network provider acts this way you have to do it the hard way or it is only you will suffer.0

Which is exactly what I would do. I would cancel my contract with Vodafone, not the bank directly. Thanks for your input.0

Taking advantage of the short-lived £80 Quidco cashback deal, I ordered an iPhone 4 to be delivered to the Charing Cross Vodafone store, for me to collect. Unbeknownst to me, this store closed a month or so ago, but Vodafone nevertheless took the order through the website and dispatched the phone. Imagine my surprise at Charing Cross yesterday to find an empty unit!
In the mean time, I wonder when the phone I paid for will turn up.
Vodafone telesales were unable to assist without the loss of my £80. I hope the 'online team' can get me sorted tomorrow, before my old O2 number is terminated. I'm in two minds whether I want to trust Vodafone for the next 2 years, if such things are possible.0
