I understand what you mean but only being 18 and needing a car, i need to be able to afford at least £250 pound p/m at least not to mention things for my self like food and clothes and then board on top... and id only be starting out with GCSE re-take's...

the start of a long struggle (just like a did at school) to which i still think well.. i tried hard at school and still only came out with E's and F's and only in 3 subjects,maths,science,english..

Hey, how about doing open college certificates? A is the same as a GCSE and B is a A' Level. The classes are more aimed at adults and tend to be grouped together so that you can work/care for dependants. There are also a number Access To courses about .... I''ve never looked into what the available areas are but I know there is a few at least.

I hope you don't mind me saying this but that really made me laugh, sounds like a scene from Chucklevision!

Anyway, I was also diagnosed as being dyspraxic when I was younger, when I left school I started an apprenticeship as an engineer and I wasn't any good at that, especially things like filing (metal not paperwork).

After a few other jobs I found something I was good at which was sales although in the end I hated it!

Rob, did you put down that you are dyspraxic on the disabilities section of the application form (if there was one?). I only ask that out of interest I never put it down myself.

As some other posters have said maybe you are not cut out for this job but don't let it get you down, with regard to you saying about wanting to get qualified could you not work part-time and study at the same time to get you to the standard you need to be at? I am going to do A levels from September and work part-time with the intention of joining the RAF as an officer.

In the meantime it may be worth speaking to the agency, saying you don't enjoy this job and seeing if they have something else you may be more suited to?

    Take it easy dude.

I commend you!! That's some workload to cope with. If you need any help with things then definitely look me up .... I was unfortunate enough to have to do GCSE resits but I think it did me good :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for your such kind replies :)

I was looking at doing degree's but thought my grades were way below the entry requirements for entry as i the following

    English:F
    Mathematics:F
    Science:F

Thats one reason why i looked at that course even though it is basic coursework i wasnt fussed in the slightest - but a degree is much much more appealing! :D heres my local collage

If you think there is any I.T related degree's i could actually do in the courses they have available with my grades please say :)

As you say your grades are not good so really I would be phoning the college up directly and talking to whoever runs the course and asking for a chance regardless of the grades or see if they can suggest how you go about it.

Either that or go back and do your GCSE's

    1. You are far from "stupid"
    2. Your talented when it comes to all things PC related.

Take this the way it's meant mate -
Get your but in gear and get your own little business set up upgrading/repairing and even building PC's. You could do that while doing some qualifications at college. You can offer software/hardware advice and assistance.
You could offer to set up websites for customers.
You could offer to secure peoples home networks (this will be the next big earner in my opinion and is something I will be doing part time also - Re "digital economy bill" - when your average punter starts to get cut off expect the orders to flood in. All simple stuff well within your grasp.
Find out how much it is to advertise in your local paper.
Find out about the grants available to young people like yourself setting up a small business.

Last point - Leave the other job......leave it to the "experts" lol. Good luck.

Would you consider re-doing your GCSE's? Was there a particular reason you got F's? eg. not going to school, struggling with a large class, distruption in class.

Obviously you don't have to do all of them, but each one would be about 2 hrs a week, so even of you did maths & english you would get somewhere. Hell, even if you had to do it again the next year to get up to Grade C.. it's got to be worth it in the long run yeah?

I'd say go on the course in Sept and see where it takes you.. you never know until you try :D

I agree with trying to get an interview with the course leader of a course you want to do. Sometimes enthusiasm is better than qualifications,
if all else fails beg to get on the course!

I's also like to say that you are not stupid because you can't pick. You might be bad at that but really good at something else. I always think if doing a job
makes you want to cry every day then you need to get out. And the bullying makes it incredibly hard. I would leave and then laugh at them when you're free!!
Trying to spread calmness, understanding and optimism on MSE :)
