I once had a disasterous day at the end of a factory conveyor belt with products shooting off all over the floor and piling up, and being unable to keep up and ...oh! god! it was awful.

I hope you don't mind me saying this but that really made me laugh, sounds like a scene from Chucklevision!

Anyway, I was also diagnosed as being dyspraxic when I was younger, when I left school I started an apprenticeship as an engineer and I wasn't any good at that, especially things like filing (metal not paperwork).

After a few other jobs I found something I was good at which was sales although in the end I hated it!

Rob, did you put down that you are dyspraxic on the disabilities section of the application form (if there was one?). I only ask that out of interest I never put it down myself.

As some other posters have said maybe you are not cut out for this job but don't let it get you down, with regard to you saying about wanting to get qualified could you not work part-time and study at the same time to get you to the standard you need to be at? I am going to do A levels from September and work part-time with the intention of joining the RAF as an officer.

In the meantime it may be worth speaking to the agency, saying you don't enjoy this job and seeing if they have something else you may be more suited to?

    Take it easy dude.

It may be that everything just clicks into place in a few days? You doing alright because a lot of people would have given up by now

I worked in a cosmetics factory a while back, I was hopeless at it. Now I am doing quite nicely thank you :)

I agree with all the people here. If you've tried your best and you're still not doing well at it, then this is obviously not the right job for you. It doesn't mean you're thick - it means you need to look for something else to do.

Hi thanks for the kind replies

I had thought about RAF and Army and even the Navy but when i went to the RAF,took the apptitude test's and got low marks, same with army.

and decided against the idea in the end.
Thing is... there's not a right lot i can think of that i can actually do...
ok, i can do a few things with computers but i cant afford to not work and go into a full time college course or night school, as i had thought about college and was taken for an interview too. but after sitting down and working it all out with my parents, id either have to face it and goto a job like im in now. or go into a full time college course but then funding goes out of the window.. as i couldnt afford to keep my car on the road even if i had a saturday job.

    Thanks
    Rob

Have another look at it. I am going to attempt to do 2 intensive A levels and 2 GCSEs which take up Monday, Wednesday & Thursday then work on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, and I have to pay rent, bills etc.

It's going to be a serious struggle but if I end up in the RAF as an officer it will be worth it.

I understand what you mean but only being 18 and needing a car, i need to be able to afford at least £250 pound p/m at least not to mention things for my self like food and clothes and then board on top... and id only be starting out with GCSE re-take's...

the start of a long struggle (just like a did at school) to which i still think well.. i tried hard at school and still only came out with E's and F's and only in 3 subjects,maths,science,english..

Remember now though that you can study what you want to, not what you a forced to study like at school.

Rob, You don't need to do retakes of gcse to learn to build computers.
I've had a look at our local colleges and many start at level 1, no gcse needed at all.
Also many full time course are only part time hours.
My daughter has just finished a full time course, she did 15 hours over 2 days and my son finished a full time course last year, 16 hours over 3 days.
This would leave you with plenty of opportunity to work.
Or our local council do a learn to build computers course 1 evening a week for 3 hours over a year.
College course will be free to you as you are under 19, make the most the opportunity to do something you might like doing.
Life is too short to spend it being miserable if at all possible. Grab the opportunity whilst you can.

If would like help to find courses near you, let me know what area you are in (via a PM is fine) and I will see what's available.
