Bank buying companies house data

Hi
I work for a bank, and deal with business customers on a daily basis.
We have received no internal briefing about this (yet) but recently I've noticed on the profile of most Ltd and Plc companies, we have a new screen called external data. Within this screen it gives what looks to be a consolidated set of company accounts for the last 3 years, listings of directors, as well as some data from Experian.
This isn't data we've asked the customer for, we're just buying it and attaching it to the profile.
I was wondering if this is normal for a bank to do this?

You don't need to ask the companies for it - they are legally obliged for it to be submitted to and subsequently made available from Companies House.0 -

The information held by Companies House is public information, therefore it makes sense that banks are using this information.Best Regards
