Vodafone business contract problem...

Hi guys and girls.

The headteacher at one of the schools I work at got an iphone contract, as she needed a work phone. We checked signal on the vodafone website, and everything seemed kushty. However, her signal drops out almost constantly, and she cannot get reliable signal in her office at all. As you can imagine, this is a massive problem. It's a real shame, as she loves the iphone. I rang CS today, who explained that she should have contacted within 7 days to resolve this, but she was so keen on keeping the phone she kind of held out for another resolution (CS asked her to take it to a vodafone shop to test the sim and phone itself previously when we contacted them). We feel hard done by now, as having no signal in her own office is a deal killer (and she now tells me her home signal is awful too). Contract cancellation is almost £700! Where do we stand?

All the best,

Majik (ICT consultant for the school)

Vodafone do Sure signal, which will cost you £50, but will then give you calls routed via wifi (I assume you have wifi in the offices?) that could be a solution?

That Oranges UMA, SureSignal plugs into your broadband and is a small FemtoCell. Not sure if it would work in a school network, where there will most likely be firewalls and network controls that would need to be overcome to get it working.

Back to the OP does the phone work outside the school? (ie fron step / playground) it may be the construction of the school giving the problems and no mobile company guarantees signal indoors.
