Hi all
Am looking to buy a laptop and i've always used Dell (mainly as I use them at work, they seem reasonably priced and are reliable).
Is this brand the best buy though? Are there better out there that are as good value for money? Or should I just stick to what I know!!?
Cheers

Compaq Presario are good.0

Lenovo are pretty decent generally. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

I'm a big fan of Apple or HP for laptops...had some bad experiences with Dell before...0

And I second BillScarab with Lenovo - not always pretty, but very reliable0

I wouldn't get a Dell. The last 2 I've had have had pretty bad build quality, and were prone to overheating, and weren't cheapo ones. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Then I'll suggest Dell. For multimedia use Toshiba will be good.0 -

Dell is cheap unreliable tat that's about on par with Advent stuff. You only have to take a look around this forum and the web to see the never ending problems that people have with them.
If you can afford them, Lenovo stuff is very well made and ultra reliable - the ThinkPad's in particular, but you don't get any shiny cases with Lenovo stuff, you just get quality.
Asus stuff is also fairly well made and reliable too and Compaq stuff is above average on reliability but their build quality is a bit questionable.
Edit: I should add that Dell's business spec machines are considerably more reliable but overall they are a manufacturer that should be avoided unless you're happy to have problems further down the line.0
