  • Hi!
I am new to this so I need some help from you guys! How do I scan my vouchers at the self-scan at Sainsburys, Tesco or Asda? Shall I do it before or after scanning my shopping items? Also, any specific supermarkets in Camden/ Islington area that accept vouchers even if you do not buy the products ? Thank you!!

On the Tesco Self scans, you first scan your shopping, then press the finish and pay icon - there is then a 'coupons' icon, select that and scan your coupon and deposit the coupon in the coupon slot. It's really easy to use. Occasionally the self scanner will say 'approval needed' after you have scanned your coupon, but from my experience the SA just approves it and lets you carry on. :D
    Good Luck

    Hi

I probably sound a bit stupid but can I use internet printed ones at the self scan at Tesco? I'm worried if I try and scan it, it might beep and I'll get told off for not buying the product. Also can I use the wholefoods one from the get active packs even if I haven't bought anything from that variety?

Everyone is talking about using the coupons from mags etc, but wasn't sure if they'll scan okay or do I have to go to a till to redeem it? I'm a bit new to the MOCs!

    Thanks :)
Ive totally given up on the internet coupons as most shops no longer accept them. All I did was waste ink printing them.
The food doc vouchers I didnt buy the products but waitrose took them all. Tesco will too but you need to get to know the sales assistants. Saturday "kids" are great! They just get on with the job. If they look closely at the coupons I just tell them that they do scan ok-Ive used them before and there has never been a problem. Its the oldre staff who insist on checking the "rules" which seem to be VERY variable!

Hi, although these coupons will mainly scan at Tesco (except the Glist ones - unless Tesco have started stocking it since last time I tried and failed with a Glist coupon there) it is best not to present coupons from other Supermarket mags at Tesco. It's the sure way to get coupon-use clamped down on locally for you, and possibly nationally in the long run.

Sainsburys will not accept coupons unless you have bought the product or unless you find a young cashier who doesn't know the rules...;)

If anyone is looking to build up a coupon stash the June FRESH magazine could be bought in multiples, it's a great opportunity IMHO. Many thanks to the OP*, £8 in highish value coupons for £2.49 is not bad at all and they are scannable and valid till the end of September.

These are the sort of coupons that newbies should be offering at the till along with Tescos own wholefoods coupons from the Get Active pack, which scan even if you have bought non food, never mind wholefood. But don't forget the coupons from the Get Active pack expire 13th May and will not scan after that as they are Tesco-specific and the tills will be changed.

Back on topic, nothing in this week's Take a Break in the coupon-line (17 May).

*sellingmysoul666 thankyou!! If anyone hasn't thanked her for posting about Fresh mag (which none of us would have bought otherwise) pop back now to page 66 and hit that button......

  • Many many thanks to "selling my soul" you "earned me £40 less the cost of the mags(so £27.50). Ive been giving away the mags in true moneysaver fashion. I will try to get hold of some more tomorrow! A bumper month so far!
