Can you get Answer Machine for Free?

Hey!
Just signed to Orange pay monthly and I see voicemail is charged to call.
Obviously I do not want to turn off this service, but don't think it is right to be charged for it.

I was wondering if there is anyway around checking your answer machine without paying?

Or is their an app you can put on your phone which acts as an answer machine but do not charge you?

    I thought charges only applied if you ran out of included minutes?

    I know that was the case when I was on o2 but I didnt think so on orange but I would be happily mistaken!

    Yeah I just checked my bill online and it comes out of my free minutes so you should only get charged if you have none left.
    Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190 :)

    Hullomail service would work but again would come out of inclusive mins so pointless on Orange, but good if they follow T-Mobile!
