Ooh how annoying. I HATE peope who do this - they make you feel stingy for asking for your own money back! I'd be quite blunt about it, or if you're really miffed, flog the ticket without telling her - it's still yours afterall!

  • She is just naive and selfish by the sounds of it! DO NOT let anyone make you feel stingy for asking for your own money back! Whether you NEED it or not is irrelevant! Let us know what she says

While not in the same boat as you, see my thread about having to go through so many hoops to get money from some friends. Also one of them still has not paid me back:

My friend has done a very similar thing - asks me to pick her up and drop her back from work - not exactly on the way and then promises to give me petrol money and doesn't pay up.

So no money Saturday, no lift on Sunday, simple.

Too Right! I would never hand enything over to people in my work without seeing cash 1st.
A guy who I work with has been coping CDs for people, hes only asking for the cost of the blank CD, but NOONE has paid him!

I'd stop doing it me. I'd tell people how much it's costing me in blanks and say that if they'd bring their own, I'd copy for them.

  • it sounds like she doesn't understand. You need to be rally clear to her and tell her that if she does not pay you by Friday YOU will sell them on ebay.

I had a friend who if she brought tickets for a show would charge a fee for doing so, so she was not out of pocket. It was only ever an extra £1 and she always made it very clear about when she wanyed the money. Don't feel awkward about asking for the money, she probably is treating it differently to you as she isn't as bothered about money. be very clear about what you want and when you want it and also what will happen if she does not pay up.

    All the best
