I think Imelda is right - your friend probably has her own money problems.
But should ask for the money outright - tell her you need it now, it's yours, she owes to you. That's it. Otherwise you will sell her ticket.Proud DFW Nerd #62

Has she come around yet??
I have a really similar friend and I've learnt to always ask her when she is at the ATM or at home with her cheque book near by because then it's harder for her to say no.
I used to ask when I remembered/plucked up the courage but it was all too easy for her to say - "oh, yeah, I'll give you the money later". And then I would have to bring it all up again at a later date.
So my advice - get 'em when you pop to a Cash Machine on the way to the pub/cinema/town etc. Then they can't say no!0 -
Myself, I would be quite miffed about this. Not only does she want YOU to wait for the money you loaned out on her behalf, she also wants you to look after them in case she loses them.
This gal needs to be responsible and less selfish.
Do as they other good folk have suggested "cash up now girly or they are hitting bay" in a nicer way of course. :cool:0 -
I agree with everyone else. I don't think you can trust anyone when it comes to money! I can't believe someone would let you buy a ticket for them without being prepared to pay for it straight away! Was debt free... then went travelling!0

Put them on Ebay get quids in and then the day before tell tehm you lost the tickets and she should have taken them!0

i agree, tell her she has to borrow the money then if she doesnt have it, as you had to and you are not prepared to bankroll her again. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi
I often perceive that friends think I may be a little bit tight... (it could all be in my head), the fact of the matter is that I have a family, house, car etc to support/run whereas they do not carry as many responsibilities as me and their money is more 'disposable' for them.
Maybe this is the mindset of your friends, it has alot to do with the time in their life they are at and their appreciation of money I think.0 -
Well I have just emailed her saying “I have got your Robbie tickets – can you give me the money at some point this week and then I will give them to you”
If I haven’t got it by Fri then they are going on ebay!0 -
she lives at home with her parents and doesnt have to pay rent/food. I dont think she realises that to me it is a lot of money!0
