IE8 slow for anyone else?

Does IE8 take a long time to load for anyone else, or is it just for me? I never used to have any problems with speed, but over the last month or so, it takes quite a time to open up, and then to load pages. I run full computer scans regularly, clear history & temp internet files, refrag and disk clean regularly, but it still takes longer than it used to. I don't really want to remove and reload it (not that confident to do things like that), and I would rather carry on using IE8 rather than change to another browser. Any advice, please?

If I do this, will I lose my favourites? As far as I'm aware, I don't have any add ons (sorry to say, I don't know how to add on! :o).

Oops, sorry, just read that it shouldn't delete favourites.

I'm still having problems with IE8. It takes ages for pages to load, and keeps telling me on the bar at the very top of the browser page "Windows Internet Explorer (Not Responding)". I've repeated the suggestion made in post #2, but it still hasn't made any difference. Has anyone got any other suggestions, please? Still got loads of free disk space left, have carried out a de-fragmentation, and disk clean.

No problems this side, but I'd switch to Firefox for added security anyhow

I carried out the above, but the tool couldn't find any problem issues with add ons etc, which didn't really surpirse me though as most of these had been removed as a result of carrying out instructions given in post #2.

Has anyone got any other ideas?

busenbust: Thanks for the Firefox suggestion, but I'd prefer to carry on using IE8, if at all possible.
