o2 contract to sim only deal.

hey all i on an o2 contract that has finished and i want to move to sim only deal, i can save 25 quid a month. thing is i'd like to keep the number and go thro quidco. so can i get my pac from the 02contract and port it to 02 sim only straight or will i have to port it to another supplier 1st then back to the 02 sim only?

I am trying to do a similiar thing and according to O2 what I have to do is,

1, 'Downgrade' my existing contract to PAYG (turns out this takes about 10 days!)

2, Go on to quidco and on to O2 and order the new contract

3, After I get set up on PAYG, request a PAC code

4, Contact O2 and transfer my old contract number/new PAYG number to my new simplicity number (I see they actually have an online form to do this (http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,T=PreToPost)


Having said that, I have just tried to order the new sim through quidco (and also TCB) but at the end I get the message that due to O2's home shopping terms I am declined - no idea what that is about but I'll keep trying

ok, think i'll just port it to another supplier then back. save some hassle hopefully.
